Our classroom
CLip chart
Our classroom will be a place where every student feels safe, valued, cared for, and has the ability to be themselves. I want my students to behave in a way that reflects their potential, but I know that they are still figuring out how to do so in first grade, so I have a few things to help encourage positive behavior. I have routines and procedures put in place for ease of learning and confidence in the classroom. I will always tell students why we have these in place so they understand the significance and meaning behind these actions.

I will always focus on the good things that students are doing and will use reinforcements such as treats, class parties, comfy chair for a day, extra recess time, game time, etc. My biggest management tool will be using a day to day clip chart (see below).

Table points
Students are sitting at tables of 4-5 students. They will work together to get points. The points are kept up on the board. I rarely take away points, but frequently give them. At the end of the week, the table with the most points gets a prize.
Class party jars
I will have a jar at the front of my classroom where students can see. When the class collectively behaves well or follows a procedure correctly, I will put beads inside and these work towards a class party.
